Monica, one thing about Paula that has bugged me as of late is her newer line Resist, that is all about fighting wrinkles and aging. She has been so adamant in the past that anti-aging products don't work to reduce wrinkles, but now it seems like she's pushing the same types of products! How do you take all of this?Have you read more/done more research into the line?

Hey Carla,

I use cover girl fresh complexion concealer in natural ivory. Because I am so fair its hard for me to match up to that perfect ivory shade.

P.S. - I have always enjoyed and love talking make-up & product talk with you!!

Thanks for the very detailed post! I think we could write a book between us on our skin woes! As you know, I have very similar skin to yours and I'm also trying to phase-out some of my Paula's Choice products for the same reason. I have a feeling I'll never be able to part with the PC toner and the daytime moisturizer though. I am looking forward to trying that Dove cleanser. I'm also hooked on Eucerin face moisturizer, if anyone else is interested. It's a light texture, but it sure does the trick for my dry skin.

I was wrong. It's not 'hydro' it's 'aqua'....Aqualia Thermal is the cream I have. There is also a riche formula, that the girl suggested I might want to try in the winter, but the one 'light' one I have right now is sufficient.

Sheri, of course the word "hyrdo" is in the name! How else to draw us dry-skinned people in? Haha! I am interested to know the name of it, though, so I can scout it out at the drugstore...

very informative!
i have one of the same problems as you...dryness. my skin is extremely dry and extremely sensitive (or so i thought). the sensitive part is right (i'm sure you have seen me red and blotchy more than once!) but the girl at shoppers said that sometimes dehydration in the skin is mistaken for dryness....what's the difference right? well i don't really know, but for dry skin a thicker cream is recommended (i.e. olay which i had used since i was 16 until this summer) and for dehydration a lighter water based product. i was pretty skeptical that the girl was just trying to upsell me. but the vichy product she recommended was on sale and only a couple dollars more than my olay so i tried it out. my skin has felt SO MUCH better. not itchy and dry like usual. vichy is also really good for sensitive skin, so it might be worth a try. i can't remember the name of the cream cause i am at work, but i'm pretty sure it has "hydro" in the name. i'll let you know later once i'm at home :)

Kaylee, it's always two or three pimples at a time - never one!! And, I have scaled back on the foundation-wearing, too, and don't wear it on weekends. When I put it on during the week, I go from the centre of my face outward, as light I can to get coverage, because I have found that I don't actually need foundation all over my entire face for my skin tone to look even. With my new routine, I have definitely noticed less action around the "good old chin area" and I'm thankful for it because it's my prime picking spot, and I, too, need the entire night for it to recover from the insane redness! Haha! What concealer do you use? Right now I use Paula's Choice Soft Cream Concealer in Soft Ivory.
